Lenzerheide to host UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in 2022

Lenzerheide can already look forward to hosting a double mountain bike event in summer 2022. From July 8th to 10th, 2022, the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup with the disciplines Cross-Country Olympic (XCO) including Cross-Country Short Track (XCC) and Downhill (DHI) will take place once more at Parpaner Rothorn.

While Lenzerheide was still missing as a venue on the UCI 2022 racing calendar published at the beginning of the year, another double mountain bike event in 2022 is has now been confirmed. The organizers around OC President Christoph Müller could not be happier: “Lenzerheide has built up a lot of know-how in matters of world cup organization in recent years. We look forward to the opportunity to prove once more that we can host a great mountain bike festival.”

Next stop: UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2021
Before the organizational work of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2022 begins, all eyes are on the organization of this year’s world cup from September 3rd to 5th, 2021. In contrast to last year, when there was hardly any planning security for major events and the World Cup had to be canceled around two months before the event date, the current situation looks better. Thanks to the three-phase model proposed by the Federal Council to combat the corona pandemic, the event – as of today – can be guaranteed, possibly even with a limited number of visitors.

Further information on this year’s UCI Mountain Bike World Cup can be expected from the beginning of July.
