Juan Diego Salido, more commonly known as Johny Salido, is a relatively new face on the Freeride scene, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been riding bikes for years now. Johny was just 2 years old when he first hopped on a bike, and he’s been progressing ever since. When he was 14, he became the Mexican National DH Champion in the Junior Category. Since then, his focus has shifted more and more to Freeride, and that shift has paid off in a big way. In 2019, he podiumed at Marzocchi Proving Grounds and earned himself a ticket to Red Bull Rampage. Unfortunately, he had to sit out that event due to an injury sustained on the last day, but the world’s eyes are fixed on this young Mexican.
Right now, his focus is on hosting his own Freeride event – the Freeride Fiesta in 2021, an event he hopes will help fuel the Mexican Mountain Bike scene and allow it to grow.
